Chapter 69

(Lily’s POV)

“We’re free! Our little retreat begins now!” Aria screamed at the top of her lungs, twirling around with her arms in the air.

Tobe laughed from the porch. “You sound like a prisoner who just escaped.”

“Because I was,” she said, dramatically pressing a hand to her chest. “Exams were jail.”

I grinned, leaning on the railing as the sound of a large car pulled into the driveway. A sleek, black van rolled to a stop. Zion stepped out from the driver’s seat with sunglasses on, his hair pushed back.

线

“You ready?” he asked, opening the passenger door with a smirk.

My heart fluttered. I nodded and hopped in.

Zion drove, and I sat beside him. Dev, Aria, and Tobe filled the back seats, already chatting and passing snacks around.

“I hope you brought music that’s not depressing,” Dev said, squinting at Zion.

“I made a playlist,” Zion replied, completely serious.

“Does it scream royalty and sad poems?” Tobe teased.

“Nope. It screams freedom.”

Zion pressed play, and upbeat music filled the van. Aria clapped. “He’s finally learning!”

The ride turned wild fast; Aria was belting out lyrics off–key while Tobe beat the seat like a drum. Dev kept tossing popcorn into our mouths, missing every time. Even Zion laughed, shaking his head as he drove. At one point, he reached over and squeezed my hand.

My heart swelled. They were all getting along, and it felt… right. Loud music, real smiles, and Zion relaxed like never before. For once, everything was perfect.

After about an hour of driving, Zion pulled to the side of a winding road. Trees stretched high above us, and the air smelled like pine and fresh water.

“From here, we run,” he said, killing the engine.

Aria blinked. “What?”

Zion grinned. “Trust me. It’s worth it.”

Without waiting, he took off into the forest.

I laughed and ran after him.

“Is this a race?” Dev shouted from behind.

“Everything’s a race!” Tobe yelled.

Chapter 69

We raced through the trees, laughter echoing in the woods. The trail narrowed, the sound of rushing water getting louder. Then the trees parted, and there it was.

The cliff.

The same one Zion once brought me to. It overlooked a wide, shimmering lake, with clear blue water and birds gliding in the sky.

Aria gasped. “This is beautiful.”

Zion reached for my hand. “Thought we’d share it with them.”

I nodded, my heart swelling with pride. I was proud of my man.

Tobe and Dev kicked off their shoes and ran to the edge.

“Who’s jumping first?”

“Not me,” Aria said, backing up. “I don’t want to get cold.”

“Come on, you’ll be fine,” Dev said.

Aria narrowed her eyes. “You go first.”

Tobe shrugged, then launched himself off the cliff with a wild cheer.

I took a deep breath and jumped with Zion.

The water swallowed us in a cool rush. When I surfaced, I was laughing.

Then Aria’s scream echoed. “Wait–WAIT-”

Dev gave her a gentle shove from behind. She shrieked as she plunged in.

We all burst into laughter, even as Aria resurfaced and cursed us out.

We spent hours there, swimming, splashing, and lying in the sun.

Later, we dried off and walked back to the cliff. Aria, Tobe, and I sat together, enjoying the breeze and the quiet water below. After a while, Dev and Zion said they needed to get the tent tools and headed off into the woods.

Minutes passed, and we got worried.

“They’re taking too long,” I said, standing to my feet.

“They’re probably just having some conversations,” Tobe muttered.

I sniffed the air and caught their smell.

“You both should stay here. I’ll be back.”

Tobe looked like he wanted to ague to go instead but I gave him the look and he shrugged in defeat.

Chapter 69

I followed Zion and Dev’s trail into the forest. The trees muffled their sounds, but I kept moving until I heard voices. It was Zion and Dev, they were carrying the tent tools and our bags

“…Zelda’s my mate,” Dev was saying to Zion.

My breath instantly hitched.

“She doesn’t know it yet, but I do. And I… I really like her. I’d be good to her, Zion. I promise.”

There was silence. Zion didn’t say anything.

I didn’t wait to hear more. I turned around and quietly made my way back to where Aria and Tobe were still waiting.

“They’ll be back soon,” I said, and they were. Just like that, the boys returned immediately.

That night, we slept under our tents by the lake. Tobe and Dev were fast asleep in one, Zion and I were in the other, while Aria was in the last one.

The air was cool. I lay on my back when I felt Zion shift beside me.

His arm slid around my waist, fingers threading gently into my hair as his lips brushed the curve of my neck. A shiver raced through me as his mouth drifted lower–down to my aching breasts, then further, between my thighs.

A low moan escaped me as his tongue found my clit, teasing and flicking until I shattered beneath him, trembling with. release.

He didn’t pause. Instead, he rose above me, guiding his hard length to my entrance, pushing in slowly–inch by inch–until he was fully inside.

I gasped when I felt the weight of him press against me. He began to move, each thrust slow and deliberate. Our bodies moved perfectly in sync, every stroke sending heat rippling through me. My eyes fluttered shut as pleasure built, wave after wave, until it swallowed me whole.

He didn’t stop when I came. He kept going, deeper, harder, until he finally groaned and spilled inside me, warmth flooding

my core.

Ravena sighed softly in the back of my mind. Vaelith stilled, quiet… satisfied.

Afterward, we lay tangled together in silence, breathing the quiet air..

I traced patterns on his skin, memorizing him. When my fingers drifted to the inside of his upper arm, I paused.

A dark spiral–shaped mark lay hidden there, barely visible. “What’s this?” I asked, brushing it gently.

He glanced down and gave a soft smile. “That? It’s a birthmark. My father has it, and so does Zelda.”

“It’s beautiful,” I said.

“I hope our children have it too,” He smiled “and I hope tonight we are able to make one or two.”

I hit him playfully, before curling into him.

“In two days time, we will be telling my parents at our graduation party,” he grinned and I nodded happily.
