Chapter 11 – The Deal 

The woman before me stood with no fear, her eyes gleaming with rage in the sunlight. She ooked very beautiful and dangerous. 

had recognized her as Donald’s wife because I’ve been following up on the family for years vaiting for the right time to strike. 

What if this is a blessing in disguise? Or what if this is a plot by my step-brother trying to plot ny downfall? 

Do we have a deal?” her sharp voice sounded, pulling me from my thoughts. 

frowned, “I don’t know, Kira, what if you’re here as a trap?” 

Kira scoffed and presented a document, “Does this help to convince you?” 

stared at the document on my desk, it was a divorce agreement, signed by Donald. 

arched my brow, “Donald divorced you?” 

I divorced him and it wasn’t willingly. Haven’t you seen the news lately?” she queried. 

shrugged, “I sympathize with you, Kira, but it seems you have everything in order. Why do you eed my help?” 

She smirked, “Because I need to be close to that family for me to exact my revenge.” 

Well maybe you shouldn’t have divorced your ex,” I pointed out. 

Her face scrunched up in disgust, “If I had stayed in that marriage he would have killed me.” 

gave her the document back, “I understand, Kira, but I can’t help you.” 

She scoffed, “Are you so scared that you’d risk losing your shot at revenge? They destroyed you ind your mother!” 

arched my brow, “What do you know about my mother, huh?” 

I know that your father married your mom, stripped her of her wealth and company then cheated on her with Donald’s mother. When your mother found out he had another family outside they had a huge argument which resulted in your mother falling down the stairs. She didn’t survive, she died of a broken heart. That was ten years ago, when you were just sixteen.” 

stared at her, my face filled with shock. This was the first time someone had recounted what had happened between my family in my presence. 

My face hardened and I glared at her, “How do you know about this?” 

‘I did my research, Damon, just like how I know you’ve been doing your research ever since you left home ten years ago, she answered. 

“Okay, let’s say I decide to indulge in your revenge plans. What exactly do you want from me?” I 

asked. 

“I have evidence, Damon, everything that can take them down. I need your help to get close and also I need us to work together and bring them down,” she answered. 

“You released videos and still no arrest has been made. That should tell you that none of them are people you trifle with,” I said.

‘Have you been watching the news lately?” she asked with a coy smile. 

She placed her ipad in front of me and I saw the headlines displayed on the screen. 

Henry Maple Has Been Arrested For the Attempted Murder of His Niece, Kira Maple. 

nodded as I read the contents, “This is impressive but we both know he’s not going to stay in ail for long.” 

Her eyes gleamed with that dangerous light again and she nodded. 

I’m aware of that which is why he has to die before he can be released,” she said simply. 

My eyes widened slightly, “Did you just admit to wanting to commit murder?” 

She shrugged, “Someone can randomly kill him. He’ll be released soon because he has strong connections with the policemen.” 

stood up, clearing my throat and adjusting my tie. 

Let me get this right, you’re proposing to kill Henry in jail?” I asked her. 

I want to deliver justice the same way they delivered justice to my parents,” she answered. 

Okay, you’re starting to get my attention now, Ms. Maple,” I smirked. 

All I need is a way to be close to them. Donald’s family and which means being close to Lily. I vanna gloat and watch them suffer as I take my revenge,” she said. 

grinned, “Then I must say that you’ve come to the right place.” 

You realize this means you’d have to go back home again after ten years,” she pointed out. shrugged, “I’ve been working in the shadows for a while. I’ve crippled Donald’s company from he shadows, maybe it’s time I step out and see it for myself.” 

Do we have a deal?” she asked.

There’s a family reunion in three days, I’d like to introduce you as my fiancee to them.”
