Chapter 14 Maple Group Takeover 

Donald’s Pov 

The following day I woke up with a clear mind. Lily was also in a good mood as she dressed up in her finest red business suit and smiled at me. 

“We need to look like a united front today, love, power couple,” she said. 

I nodded, “Yes, you’re correct, my dear.” 

I got dressed and we stepped outside. Henry decided he would meet us there however when we got downstairs he was already there. 

‘Father, you’re here,” Lily said in a surprised voice. 

‘Hello, Henry,” I nodded at him. 

‘I got here as soon as I could. The bloggers have started another news. They had seen Lily coming out of the ultrasound room yesterday and now they’re trying to shame my little girl,’ Henry said. 

opened my phone and saw the news headlines. The bloggers were talking about Lily being an ndecent girl and asking who was responsible. Some were even hinting that she had tried to kill her cousin so she could have her husband.

Henry smiled, “Quite the opposite. I’ve contacted our PR team to take care of it. This will only show a united front that you intend to merge with Maple Group and marry my daughter.” 

But what about Kira?” I asked, “The public will wonder why she’s barely disappeared and now I’m getting married to Lily.” 

Not if we paint a picture that she was unfaithful to you during marriage and show your divorce agreement,” Henry said.

We drove to the company and arrived at Maple Group. The board members were already waiting

‘I can’t believe we’re here again after what happened last time!” one of the board members snapped, 

‘Calm down, we all want this company to be successful. I’m not going to let my late brother’s company run into the ground,” Henry said. 

“What again is this? You have a pending criminal investigation, Henry, we can’t let you take over this company,” another person said. 

Henry nodded, “I understand that which is why I’m not here to take over any company. I only

The board members stared amongst themselves and nodded. They knew it was a sweet deal although no one knew I had nothing to offer. 

What do you want in return for this investment?” one of the board members asked. 

I want Lily, my fianceé to be the new CEO of this company so she can take it to a greater eight,” I answered. 

The board members exchanged troubled looks before one of them dared speak up. 

We understand you’re married to Kira Maple, how can Lily be your fianceé?” he asked. 

Henry turned on the television before I had time to reply and right there on the screen were the ews headlines. 

Kira Maples, formerly known as Kira Reeds, cheated on Her Ex-Husband, Donald Reeds while

The news reporter went further to discuss and present evidence that Kira had been unfaithful nd also showed evidence of the divorce agreement stating that our marriage was over.
