Chapter 26 – Broken 

I opened my eyes with a sour taste in my mouth. My entire body was on fire and I couldn’t move. I could hear the beeping sound of the EKG and when I tried to sit up, a scream ripped from my 

throat. 

This caused the pain in my throat to worsen as tears rolled down my cheeks. Then I heard her vicious voice. 

‘I wouldn’t recommend crying, Lily, you’ve done enough of that. I’m surprised your tear duct is still functional.” 

stared at Kira who was standing in front of the door, a smug smile plastered on her face. lesperately wished I could stand up and claw off that smile but every movement was painful. 

What do you want?” I asked her in a hoarse voice. 

She chuckled, “Oh, the mighty Lily. Don’t tell me you’ve given up. I was expecting more of a :hallenge.” 

tried to scoff but that only caused me pain so I looked away instead. 

You’ve taken everything from me. Now leave me alone,” I said. 

Kira laughed and walked closer so she was standing before me. 

I wish I could, but even when I lost everything, you refused to let me be. You even tormented me nd worsened my condition,” she said. 

I’ve already apologized and made myself a laughing stock online, what more do you want from ne?” I asked, sobbing. 

Kira giggled, as she handed me my phone. “Maybe you should check the internet. You did more han make yourself a laughing stock.” 

My fingers hovered over my phone scared of what I might see but I resigned to fate. What more vas worse than this? 

was wrong because the moment I opened the news headlines I realized what Kira had done. She had uploaded the video of where I was forced to strip at gun point and edited it so instead it ooked like I was doing a striptease for the public and it was leaked. 

The comments were horrible as I read them all. 

Isn’t she supposed to be pregnant?’

She’s so uncultured, how could she do this when her parents just died?’ 

Seriously, Maple Group needs another CEO or this country is doomed if these rich people think they can do whatever they want and get away with it’ 

“But that isn’t what happened! I was forced to strip at gunpoint,” I cried. 

Kira laughed, “Now you know how it feels when the truth is covered and a new narrative is pushed forward.” 

I stared at her, and let out a quiet sigh, “You’ve won, Kira. I’m sorry I underestimated you.”

She stared at me and smirked, “You’re now an empty shell. I wouldn’t bother myself with you for some time again.” 

Then she left me lying there in pain and walked away. I tried to sit up but my lower limb and my 

stomach burned like hell. 

The door opened and I thought it was Kira coming back to gloat but it was only Troy. 

smiled when I saw him, tears of relief flooding my eyes. 

‘Please, Troy, take me away from here,” I said. 

Troy barely glanced at me as he checked my vitals. Then he tossed some pills beside me. 

This should help with the pain. Your vitals are good, you should be discharged in a few days,” he said casually like he was just talking to another patient. 

Troy, why are you speaking to me like that?” I asked him. 

He stopped and stared at me with an intense hatred that made my soul freeze. 

You are a demon and I regret ever getting entangled with you. You are a witch and all you’ve ver cared for is yourself!” he said with so much venom I was startled. 

What have I done to deserve such harsh words, Troy? Everything I’ve done is for us,” I cried. 

le scoffed, “No, you did everything for your own benefit and you’re not afraid of tossing anyone inder the bus just so you’ll remain on top.” 

It was a temporary lapse in judgment, Troy, I couldn’t disagree with my father but you know I’ ever betray you,” I cried. 

Troy scoffed and tossed some documents on the bed. 

Yeah, that’s what I thought until Kira showed me these documents and I confirmed they’re alid,” he said. 

opened the document and saw it was an abortion result I had scheduled and carried out six nonths ago. 

had listed the father as Troy and even gotten his signature on the document. 

‘You were pregnant with my child, Lily!” he snapped, “You know how much I wanted a child, we both wanted or at least you pretended to want one yet you got rid of our child without my consent and even forged my signature.” 

My hands were shaking as I lifted the documents, tears running down my cheeks. 

“No… this was… we were planning… we couldn’t handle a child, it would have ruined everything,” I cried, “I did it for us.” 

“I never want to see you again!” Troy deadpanned.
