Chapter 12 

Bernadette knew Nolan would come to her, but she didn’t expect it to be 

so soon. 

The scenery outside the window kept moving backward. She let out a sneer, “Nolan, calling me all humble behind Jessica’s back, you really were pathetic.” 

Willingly lowered oneself. 

Nolan used these words to describe her back then, and now she gave them right back to him. 

There was a long silence over there. Bernadette knew Nolan was struggling with his pride. She knew how important this chance was for Nolan, and she also knew how much Nolan cared about saving face. 

She leaned against the car window and let out a small laugh: “You know what? This chance was meant for you in the first place.”

Nolan’s face turned pale and green. He gripped his phone so tight that his knuckles went white, almost like he wanted to crush it.
