Reed’s POV

By the time I reached the end of my sentence, my voice had softened. It sounded more like I was trying to comfort myself than convince anyone else.

Kade, nervous and hesitant, gave a meek nod and quickly left my office.

I didn’t pay any mind to what Haven had said earlier about coming to apologize to me. Instead, I turned and headed straight back to the villa.

I told myself there might be clues waiting for me at home-something Willow had left behind.

She loved me so much. How could she possibly leave without saying a word?

That thought alone stripped me of the last shred of patience. I ran ten red lights in a row, racing home at the fastest speed I could.

But what greeted me wasn’t what I expected.

The villa was pitch-black.

Not only was Willow gone. Haven wasn’t there either.

Panic seized me. As soon as I stepped inside, I started searching every room in a frenzy.

But it was no use. Haven had been living there for over a month now.

Any trace of Willow had long since been wiped clean.

I stood in the middle of the villa, glancing around in disbelief.

It was impossible to believe this used to be the marital house I shared with Willow.

I stepped into the garden and saw the roses had all been replaced with lavender.

Staring blankly, I murmured under my breath, “Willow… I really know I was wrong. Please… don’t do this anymore.”

“You said you’d always love me, didn’t you?” I asked the empty air. “You said no matter what did, you’d forgive me, didn’t you? Why… Why is everything so different now?”

I kept asking, again and again, my voice drifting through the empty villa.

But the one person who could answer me… was no longer there.

Dragging my weary body upstairs, I climbed step by step, running only in desperation. At the top, I let out a hoarse, trembling shout.

“Nora! Nora!”

The housekeeper finally emerged from the servants’ quarters, moving cautiously and nervously. I clenched my jaw, holding back my frustration. “Where is Willow’s stuff? Where did you put them?”

She froze for a second, hesitated, then finally answered, “S-Sir, Ma’am Haven asked us to throw some of it away. The rest… I put it in the basement. We’re going to get rid of those, too, in a few days.”

I nearly lost my breath.

All I had agreed to was letting Haven redecorate.

I had never said she could throw away everything that belonged to Willow.

My stomach twisted. I stumbled toward the basement, as if propelled by sheer will.

Inside, only a few of Willow’s belongings were left.

I walked over, dusted them off with trembling hands, and gently gathered them into my arms as though they were precious treasures.

My heart sank deeper and deeper until it felt like it had been swallowed by a bottomless pit.

I truly hadn’t expected Haven to go this far.

If she dared to have the housekeeper throw away Willow’s things while I was still around… Then what about everything else?

Were those accusations against Willow… really her doing?

For the first time, I began to doubt.

A memory surfaced-Willow’s firm denial when I’d confronted her.

She had looked me in the eye and told me she hadn’t done any of it.

She’d even asked me to check the surveillance footage myself.

But I had refused to believe her back then. I’d been too caught up in my own assumptions-too convinced she was guilty.

Regret surged through me like a tidal wave. Without hesitation, I turned to the housekeeper and barked, “Go pull up the old surveillance footage. I want to see it. Now.”

Nora quickly nodded and hurried off.

Moments later, a flash drive with the security footage was placed into my hand.
