Ch. His Infidelity 28 His Infidelity 28

I rushed forward and threw myself between them, catching Dyson’s arm just in time. If I hadn’t stopped him, Reed might have been beaten to death right there on the floor.

Reed’s face lit up the moment I touched Dyson’s arm. There was joy in his eyes-a fragile, pitiful kind of joy.

With trembling hands, he reached into his coat and pulled out a small bouquet of roses. He held it out toward me like a lifeline.

“Baby…” His voice cracked. “These are for you. Your favorite…”

I stepped away from him immediately, ignoring the flowers. Without a word, I grabbed Dyson’s hand and pulled him with me, heading straight for the door.

I knew Reed. If I let him entangle me here, there was no escaping him-not today.

We had just stepped outside the restaurant when I heard hurried footsteps behind us.

Reed had followed.

“Willow!” he called after me, desperation rising with every word. “Willow, don’t go! Please, I’m begging you! Listen to me! I know I was wrong. I really, truly do. Let me explain, just give me a chance, please!”

Dyson’s eyes flared with disgust. Seeing Reed chasing after me again, he released my hand, clearly ready to throw another punch.

But I caught his arm once more, stopping him.

‘Don’t,” I said quietly, my brows furrowed. “Let me handle this. I’ll make things clear.”

He looked at me, uncertain.

But in the end, he gave a short nod and stepped aside, allowing me to face Reed one last time.

stared at Reed with undisguised disgust, my voice edged with impatience as I snapped, “Reed, what exactly do you want from me? We’re already divorced. Have you forgotten that?”

A flicker of pain crossed his eyes, but he quickly masked it and pulled out a phone, holding it out

to me.

‘Willow, I know the truth about what happened back then,” he said earnestly. “Please forgive me. I’ve already punished Haven severely. She’s even lost the baby now.”

He coaxed me, “Come back to me. Let’s start over. I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you. Please.”

I didn’t even look at the phone. With a sharp slap, I knocked it out of his hand.

“That’s enough,” I said coldly. “I don’t want to hear anything about you and Haven. We have nothing to do with each other anymore. The only thing I want now is to see both of you rot in jail,”

Seeing the sheer loathing on my face, Reed looked as if someone had driven a blade straight

into his heart.

He didn’t want to believe I no longer loved him. He would rather convince himself that I’d been manipulated by some stranger than face the reality that my feelings had completely vanished.

Still, he stubbornly reached out to me again, his hand trembling slightly.

“I know I messed up big time, Willow. Ever since you left, I’ve been living in unbearable pain every single day,” he regretted. “I’ve never stopped loving you. Haven… She was a mistake. But I’ve corrected it now. Just give me a chance. Please?”
