Several hours later, nearly frozen to death, I was finally carried out by Reed.
His eyes were red as he looked at me, his gaze filled with guilt and heartbreak.
“How could this be? I thought Mom was just mad… How could she actually lock you in there?”
I kept my eyes closed, unable to say a single word.
His burning tears landed on my neck. For a moment, it felt like I’d been scalded.
I would never trust this man again.
After being rushed to the hospital, I underwent treatment for an entire day and night before I finally opened my eyes.
Reed was seated at my bedside, watching me with a tender, aching expression.
He reached out, attempting to touch my face, but I turned away sharply, avoiding him.
He paused, and then he softened his voice in an effort to coax me.
‘I know you’re still mad. What happened was your fault-you shouldn’t have gone after Haven. But Mom also went too far. Once we get home, I’ll buy you that necklace you love. Think of it as my way of making it up to you, okay?”
He spoke the way he always did when trying to comfort me in the past.
But now, his words only made me feel deeply repulsed.
I was so mad, but I stared at him calmly.
‘I told you. I didn’t push Haven. The reason your mother dared to lock me in that freezer is because you allowed her to.”
paused, letting the weight of my words sink in. Watching his expression twist in shock, I didn’t
nesitate.
‘Give me back the keepsake my parents gave you. We’re getting a divorce. I’ll step aside and let you be with Haven.”
He shot to his feet, visibly shaken, his hands trembling.
His voice even broke with anguish.
‘Willow! How could you say something like that? You’re cutting my heart open! I’m not divorcing
you!”
He leaned down and pulled me into a desperate embrace, his voice choked with emotion.
‘There’s nothing between me and Haven. If it bothers you, I swear I won’t see her again.”
That made me sneer inwardly. ‘Nothing between you two? Then whose child is she carrying?’
Before I could say the words out loud, Haven appeared.
She stood at the doorway, stunned by what she was witnessing, her eyes quickly welling with
tears.
“Reed? You…”

In an instant, Reed let go of me and rushed after her.
As he passed by, I watched him calmly. He gritted his teeth under my gaze.
“Willow, Haven’s pregnant. Don’t hold this against her. I’ll go explain things to her.”
And just like that, without hesitation, he ran after her.
Something compelled me to follow.
On the rooftop, Reed caught up to Haven and swept her into his arms.
She sobbed in his embrace, her voice trembling with grief.
side.
“Reed, my heart hurts so much… and the baby too. Maybe I shouldn’t have stayed by your Watching you be so loving with Willow every day-it’s unbearable. Maybe I should just die anc end it all!”
Reed clutched her tightly, eyes filled with pain and apology
“Don’t say that. You’ve finally come back to me, and now we even have a baby. If you try to die what do you want me to do? Are you trying to take my life too?”
His eyes brimmed with agony and affection.
After her repeated outbursts, he finally gave in.
“Alright. I won’t be so close to Willow anymore. Come down with me. This place is toc dangerous.”
I stood frozen in place, watching him gently carry Haven down the stairs.
They both turned around and saw me.
For a second, they were both stunned.
But Reed didn’t let go of the woman in his arms. Instead, he held her even tighter.
“Willow…” he said, his voice strained. “We’ll talk about this when I get back.”
I let out a cold laugh, locking eyes with him.
“Talk? About what? That the baby in her belly isn’t yours?”
Pain flickered across his face as he met my icy stare.
He loosened his hold on Haven, reaching toward me.
But his other woman moved faster.
Before he could stop her, Haven suddenly grabbed hold of my hands.
Her grip felt tighter as she begged.
“Willow, Reed didn’t do anything. It’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have gotten close to him. Please forgive him. Don’t fight because of me.”
I tried to pull away, but a glint of malice flashed through her eyes.
She dug her nails hard into the spot near my stitches, the pain nearly knocking me off balance.
My leg twitched from the sting, and in that instant, Haven’s face lit up in triumph.
The next second, that lunatic let out a shriek and flung herself backward, collapsing to the floor.
