Ch. His Infidelity 6 His Infidelity 6

Willow’s POV

Reed shoved me aside in a panic.

I nearly lost my balance-just one more step and I would’ve fallen off the rooftop!

But he didn’t even glance at me.

His only concern was Haven. After hastily inspecting her for injuries, he turned to me, his face contorted in fury. Without warning, he stormed over and slapped me hard across the face.

The sound echoed through the rooftop.

I stared at him in disbelief, stunned, my face stinging and my heart cold.

He froze, seemingly startled by my expression. It was as if my gaze burned him. He looked down at his hand, as if just realizing what he’d done.

A flicker of fear and guilt flashed across his face. His lips parted, as if he wanted to explain. But before he could say anything, Haven let out a sharp cry of pain behind him.

Instantly, the guilt in Reed’s eyes vanished, replaced by a hard, icy glare. He turned back to me like a man possessed.

“Willow,” he growled, “why did you lay a hand on Haven again? I seriously regret marrying you! You better pray nothing happens to her! If anything goes wrong, I swear I won’t let you off!” With that, he rushed back to Haven while I stood frozen where I was, too shocked to move.

It wasn’t until hours later that I finally forced myself to walk out of the hospital, each step heavy and unsteady.

But just as I reached the front doors, Reed’s men intercepted me and dragged me back.

They shoved me into Haven’s hospital room, right in front of her bed.

Reed glared at me with eyes full of loathing. “How dare you try to leave so easily? Do you even realize what you’ve done? You nearly killed someone!”

He placed the entire blame on me, not bothering to verify a single fact.

“Apologize to Haven right now. If you don’t, I swear, I’ll make you regret it.”

His cold, threatening stare bore into me as if I were his mortal enemy.

My fingers curled into tight fists, nails digging deep into my palms.

Looking at the smugness on Haven’s face, I spoke firmly, my voice cutting through the tense air. “I didn’t push her. This entire thing was orchestrated by her-it’s a performance. If you don’t believe me, check the security footage.”

“I’m not apologizing,” I added firmly. “The ones who should apologize? You.”

I looked straight into Reed’s eyes, my gaze full of hatred. Hatred that had been festering, growing with every betrayal.

He flinched.

I bet it had never occurred to him that I would one day look at him like this.

For a brief moment, pain flashed across his face.

Sensing that things weren’t going as planned, Haven’s expression quickly shifted. She reached out, tugging pitifully on Reed’s sleeve.

“Reed…. let it go, okay? From now on, I’ll stay far away from both of you. As long as I can protect this baby, I’ll be happy just watching you from afar…”

Reed frowned deeply, his expression unreadable as he turned to me.

“Willow, I don’t know what you’re talking about. But right now, you must apologize to her!”

I looked at him mockingly.

“I won’t apologize. But I will divorce you. I’m sure Haven would be more satisfied with that.”

Her eyes lit up, but when she caught sight of the fury darkening Reed’s face, she quickly lowered her gaze and wiped away the hint of a smile.

Then, in a shocking move, she raised her fist and slammed it into her own belly.

Reed gasped, rushing forward to grab her hand. “What are you doing?!”

Tears welled in Haven’s eyes as she looked up at him. The next second, she buried her face in her hands and began to sob.

“She won’t stop until she kills the baby, Reed. Rather than let her take my child’s life, I’d rather end it myself!”

And with that, she began pounding her belly again and again.

Reed’s eyes filled with anguish. He pulled her into his arms and held her tightly, his voice trembling as he tried to soothe her.

“It’s okay… It’s okay. I’ll protect you. I won’t let anything happen to our baby. I’ll make sure it’s safe. I swear I’ll make Willow pay. She’ll never touch you again.”

I didn’t want to hear any more of his comforting words. Not when they were meant for her.

I took one last look at the two of them-one clinging, one embracing-and turned to leave without saying another word.

But just as I reached the door, Reed stepped in front of me, his face dark as a storm.
