Willow’s POV
His voice was gentle, but his eyes were cold as frost.
“Willow,” he said softly, “you need to learn a lesson. Think of it as for Haven’s sake. Don’t worry the surgery won’t hurt much.”
Something about the look on his face made my heart sink.
I stared at him warily. “Reed, what are you trying to do?”
He met my gaze with eerie calm, but the words that left his mouth were sharp and merciless.
‘As long as you can’t conceive, you won’t pose a threat to her baby. Don’t worry. It’s just a minc procedure,” he said slowly, as if explaining something trivial. “Once her child is safely born and raised, I’ll help restore you back to normal.”
His tone turned coaxing, almost tender.
That was when I realized what he was planning.
He wanted to force an IUD into me!
My blood turned to ice.
‘You’re insane!” I shouted hoarsely. “Reed, you’ve completely lost it!”
spun around to leave, but his men blocked my way, their arms like steel bars.
n the end, they dragged me, kicking and sobbing, onto the operating table.
stared at Reed through a blur of tears, my voice slicing through the sterile air like a knife.
‘Reed! Let me go! I told you-I didn’t do anything! If you go through with this, I swear I’ll never ‘orgive you. I’ll leave you!”
But my threats meant nothing to him.
He looked at me and gave a faint laugh.
‘You love me too much, Willow. You’d never bear to leave me.”
My body trembled uncontrollably.
A second later, I felt the icy sting of anesthesia enter my bloodstream.
Right before I slipped into unconsciousness, I heard the doctor’s hesitant voice.
‘Sir, she’s just had a miscarriage. If we implant the device now, even if it’s removed later, she may never be able to conceive again. Are you sure you want to proceed?”
.
Reed didn’t hesitate for even a moment.
‘Go ahead with the surgery,” he said coldly. “It doesn’t matter if she can’t have children. I’ll give her Haven’s baby to raise.”
A single tear slid silently down my cheek.
At that moment, whatever final shred of affection I had for him vanished.
When I woke up again, I lay there in silence and calmly turned to look at Reed. Without a word, I picked up my phone and began sending messages to the staff at Ericsson Ventures.
The manager replied quickly.
In two days, he said, I’d be finally able to leave this hell.
At that, a faint smile finally appeared on my lips.
This nightmare was almost over.
Reed noticed the change in me-the way I didn’t even glance at him, the way I smiled faintly while staring at my phone.
His expression darkened.
He suddenly reached out and snatched the phone from my hand.
“Let me see who you’re talking to.”
But the screen had already gone dark.
He kept pressing me for the PIN code, his tone growing impatient.
Annoyed beyond measure, I finally told him, “The day we first met.”
He froze for a moment, clearly caught off guard.
His brows furrowed as he tried to recall the moment.
But even after Haven showed up, he still hadn’t managed to unlock my phone.
I tilted my head slightly, the corners of my mouth lifting in a cold, sarcastic smile.
A flicker of guilt flashed across Reed’s eyes.
Haven stepped up beside him and slipped her arm through his with a bright smile, as if she hadn’t noticed the tension in the air.
“Willow,” she said sweetly, “Reed’s letting me move into the villa you two shared, so he can take better care of me. We’re throwing a party there tonight. Hope you don’t mind?”
Her tone was light, but her eyes sparkled with smug satisfaction.
I turned away from her, my expression calm.
Then, I removed the wedding ring from my finger and slid it onto hers.
‘I don’t mind. The villa, Reed-take them both. I’m done.”
