Ch. His Infidelity 8 His Infidelity 8

Reed stared at me, a flash of panic suddenly crossing his eyes.
He snatched the wedding ring from Haven’s hand and tried to force it back onto my finger.
But after everything, I had lost too much weight. The ring slipped again and again, never staying in place-just like our marriage.
Seeing this, he clenched the ring tightly in his palm, his expression twisting into a cold, mocking
smile.
“You’re just an orphan now, Willow. I’m the only one you can rely on. Where else can you possibly go?”
As he spoke, he stood up deliberately and wrapped Haven into his arms, as if he were waiting for me to explode in jealousy.
“You’ll attend tonight’s party,” he decided, “but the family’s matriarch-will not be you.”
He left that sentence coldly hanging in the air and turned to leave.
That evening, I casually tidied myself up and returned to the villa.
The place was now brightly lit. Even though I’d only been away for a few days, it looked completely different.
The massive wedding portrait that used to take up an entire wall in the living room had been replaced-by a photo of Reed and Haven.
The luxurious décor I once adored had been swapped out for pinks and yellows.
I looked away, forcing calm, until I noticed the roses in the garden-completely dug up. My eyes finally trembled.
That rose garden… Reed had planted it just for her. Every flower had been a rare variety, each carefully tended by professionals. The whole garden was worth billions.
He once promised me: as long as he lived, the garden would never wither.
And he kept his word-only now, it bloomed for another woman.
I laughed at myself, turned around, and started heading upstairs.
That’s when Haven suddenly appeared and yanked me toward the center of the party hall.
Her face was full of smiles.
“You really have no shame, coming back here like this. But actually, I’m glad. Now you get to see just how much Reed loves me.”
I looked at her calmly. “What do you want?”
“I want to be the matriarch,” she answered fast. “I want Reed.”
I stared at her and replied evenly, “Don’t you already have both? What more do you want? You
can have it all. That man and everything that comes with him-I don’t want any of it.”
She froze for a moment. Then, out of nowhere, she slapped herself hard across the face.
At the very next moment, she ripped her own dress to shreds.
After doing all that, she held my hands, her eyes welling up with tears.
“I don’t believe for a second you’ll let him go,” she whispered.
Just then, Reed walked out-just in time to see Haven in tears and begging me.
His eyes widened at the sight of the marks on her face.
His expression turned livid as he roared, “Willow! You still haven’t learned your lesson? I just let you out!”
“It wasn’t me, it was-she did it her-”
Before I could finish, Reed’s hand shot out and wrapped around my neck.
His gaze was ice-cold, dark and suffocating.
“Are you really going to tell me I should check the surveillance footage again? Haven’s carrying my child! How could she possibly do something like this? Willow, you disgust me!”
Looking into his eyes, filled with loathing, I couldn’t even draw a breath.
Finally, he had said it all out loud.
“Let… go…”
Just as I was about to pass out, he released me and flung me to the floor.
Only then did Haven rush forward. Her voice trembled as she sobbed, “Reed, stop. It’s okay. This is all because of me. I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt.”
Reed gently draped his suit jacket over her shoulders, his hand tenderly caressing the marks on
her face.
Then, he turned to me. With one brutal motion, he tore my dress open, then slapped me-twice,
hard.
‘From now on, whatever you do to Haven, I’ll make you pay back double! Now get out. This is no onger your home.”
staggered to my feet, my face burning with pain.
Guests from the party began rushing over, drawn by the commotion.
Clutching the torn fabric around my body, I fled upstairs.
Less than five minutes later, before I could even change clothes, I was dragged out of the villa.
Reed stood there, his face expressionless and cold.
I didn’t say a word. I just turned around and walked away.
Shortly after, a car arrived to pick me up.
I changed into the clothes my assistant had brought and called my secretary.
“The RH Limited’s deal is scheduled for tomorrow. I want you to release an official statement announcing Ericsson Ventures’s withdrawal at the same time. I want the Hetheringtons’ company to go down in hell and pay for everything Reed has done!”
After hanging up, I glanced at the plane ticket displayed on my phone.
Starting tonight, I was finally free.
And Reed-he would pay with blood!
